THUS, INDEED, did We bestow Our favour upon Moses and Aaron; 114 And We saved them and their people from the great distress; 115 And We helped them, so that they were the victors; 116 and We gave them the Book which helps to make things clear; 117 And We guided them to the Straight Way. 118 and We left them thus to be succeeded by a group [of followers] among later generations: 119 'Peace be upon Moses and, Aaron!' 120 Thus indeed do We reward those who do right. 121 They are among Our faithful devotees. 122 And lo! Elias was of those sent (to warn), 123 When he said to his people: "Will you not be mindful of God? 124 Do you worship Ba`al and abandon the Best Creator. 125 God, your Lord, and the Lord of your fathers?" 126 Then they belied him, so verily they are to be brought up. 127 Save single-minded slaves of Allah. 128 We left him thus to be succeeded by a group [of followers] among the following generations -- 129 Salamun (peace) be upon Ilyasin (Elias)!" 130 Verily, thus do We reward the Muhsinun (good-doers, who perform good deeds totally for Allah's sake only - see V. 2:112). 131 He is indeed one of Our high ranking, firmly believing bondmen. 132 And verily Lut was of the sent ones. 133 When We saved him and his household, every one, 134 Except an old woman who was among those who lagged behind: 135 We then destroyed the others. 136 And most surely you pass by them in the morning, 137 And at night; will you not then reflect? 138
