Jinns (Al-Jinn)
In the name of Allah, the Entirely Merciful, the Especially Merciful
۞ Say, [O Muhammad], "It has been revealed to me that a group of the jinn listened and said, 'Indeed, we have heard an amazing Qur'an. 1 Guiding unto rectitude; wherefore we have believed therein, and we shall by no means associate with our Lord anyone. 2 for [we know] that sublimely exalted is our Sustainer's majesty: no consort has He ever taken unto Himself, nor a son! 3 And that the foolish one among us used to speak concerning Allah an atrocious lie. 4 And lo! we had supposed that humankind and jinn would not speak a lie concerning Allah - 5 And there were men from mankind who sought refuge in men from the jinn, so they [only] increased them in burden. 6 'And they (came to) think as ye thought, that Allah would not raise up any one (to Judgment). 7 "'And [so it happened] that we reached out towards heaven: but we found it filled with mighty guards and flames, 8 We would sit there on seats to hear; but any listening now finds a meteor in wait for him. 9 we cannot tell if this bodes evil to those who dwell on earth or whether their Lord intends to guide them. 10 And among us there are righteous folk and among us there are far from that. We are sects having different rules. 11 We knew that we could never challenge God whether we stayed on earth or fled elsewhere. 12 And that when we heard the guidance, we believed in it; so whoever believes in his Lord, he should neither fear loss nor being overtaken (by disgrace): 13 "'Yet [it is true] that among us are such as have surrendered themselves to God - just as there are among us such as have abandoned themselves to wrongdoing. Now as for those who surrender themselves to Him - it is they that have attained to consciousness of what is right; 14 But as for the unjust, they will be, for Hell, firewood.' 15 Had they (jinn and mankind) remained steadfast in their religion (Islam), We would certainly have given them abundant water to drink 16 so as to test them by this means: for he who shall turn away from the remembrance of his Sustainer, him will He cause to undergo suffering most grievous. 17 and that “mosques belong to Allah, so do not invoke anyone with Him”; 18 And that when the Servant of Allah stood up supplicating Him, they almost became about him a compacted mass." 19
