The News (Al-Naba')
In the name of Allah, the Entirely Merciful, the Especially Merciful
۞ Concerning what are they disputing? 1 Of the mighty tiding 2 that they are in utter disagreement? 3 No indeed; they shall soon know! 4 Yes, indeed, before long they will learn all about it. 5 Have We not made the earth an expanse. 6 and the mountains as pegs? 7 And We created you in pairs, 8 and We appointed your sleep for a rest; 9 And made the night as a covering, 10 And have appointed the day for livelihood. 11 And We have built above you seven firmaments, 12 and have placed [therein the sun,] a lamp full of blazing splendour. 13 and have sent down from the clouds, pouring rain 14 That We may bring forth thereby grain and vegetation 15 And gardens of thick foliage. 16 Indeed, the Day of Decision is an appointed time, 17 On that day the trumpet will be sounded and you will come (to Us) in huge groups. 18 and the heaven shall be opened, and become gates, 19 The mountains put in motion turning into a mirage. 20 Indeed hell is lying in ambush. 21 A place of resort for the inordinate, 22 They will abide therein for ages. 23 Nothing cool shall they taste therein, nor any drink. 24 Save a boiling fluid and a fluid, dark, murky, intensely cold, 25 , A fitting reward. 26 For indeed they did not look forward to any reckoning, 27 But they belied Our Ayat (proofs, evidences, verses, lessons, signs, revelations, and that which Our Prophet (Peace be upon him) brought) completely. 28 However, We have recorded everything in a book. 29 "So taste [the penalty], and never will We increase you except in torment." 30
