Thus did We deliver the Children of Israel from the humiliating chastisement, 30 from Pharaoh, who ranked high in sin, 31 We gave preference to the Israelites over the other people with Our knowledge 32 and gave them signs wherein there was a manifest trial. 33 Even then they say: 34 "There is nothing beyond our first death, and we shall not be raised again. 35 So bring our fathers (back), if you are truthful. 36 Are they better than the people of Tubba, and those who had lived before them, whom We destroyed as they were sinners? 37 And We created not the heavens and the earth, and all that is between them, for mere play, 38 We did not create them except in truth, but most of them do not know. 39 Verily the Day of Distinction is the term appointed for all of them. 40 the Day when no friend shall be of the least avail to his friend, and when none shall be succoured 41 except for those to whom God grants mercy. He is Majestic and All-merciful. 42
