(O Prophet), did you see him who turned away (from the Path of Allah), 33 and grudgingly spends very little for the cause of God? 34 Does he possess the knowledge of the Unseen, and therefore he sees? 35 Has he not been made acquainted with what was written in the scriptures of Moses? 36 and about Abraham who fulfilled his duty (to God)? 37 That no burdened soul bears another soul’s burden? 38 And that man shall have nothing but what he strives for- 39 That his endeavours will be judged, 40 whereupon he shall be requited for it with the fullest requital; 41 That to thy Lord is the final Goal; 42 That it is He Who granteth Laughter and Tears; 43 and that it is He who causes to die, and causes to live 44 and that it is He who creates the two kinds - the male and the female 45 of a sperm-drop, when it was cast forth, 46 and that upon Him rests the second growth, 47 And that it is He (Allah) Who gives much or a little (or gives wealth and contentment), 48 and that He is the Lord of (the star) Sirius, 49 It is He who utterly destroyed the ancient tribes of Ad, 50 And destroyed the tribe of Thamud, not sparing anyone? 51 And before them, the people of Nooh? Indeed they were more unjust and more rebellious than these! 52 And that it is He Who threw down the upturned townships? 53 and then covered them from sight forever. 54 Concerning which then, of the bounties of thy Lord, canst thou dispute? 55 He who warns you is one of the warners of old. 56 The approaching event has come near. 57 None beside Allah can disclose it. 58 Do you then wonder at this recital (the Quran)? 59 And will you laugh and not weep? 60 And you are lost in play! 61 So prostrate to Allah and worship [Him]. ۩ 62
