The Embryo (Al-Alaq)
In the Name of Allah, the Merciful, the Most Merciful
Read: In the name of thy Lord Who createth, 1 Created man, out of a (mere) clot of congealed blood: 2 Read and your Lord is Most Honorable, 3 Who has taught (the writing) by the pen [the first person to write was Prophet Idrees (Enoch)]. 4 taught man what he did not know. 5 No indeed; surely Man waxes insolent, 6 Because he considers himself self-sufficient. 7 Indeed, to your Lord is the return. 8 Did you see him who forbids 9 A votary when he turns to his devotions? 10 What is your opinion – if he were upon guidance, 11 Or enjoins Righteousness? 12 Do you see how he has denied the truth and turned away from it? 13 Does he not realize that God sees him? 14 Nay, if he desist not, We shall most surely drag him down upon his forehead 15 A forelock that lies, is sinful. 16 So let him call on his concourse! 17 We will call the angels of Hell. 18 No, indeed; do not obey him! Prostrate and come nearer (to Allah). ۩ 19
True are the words of Allah the Almighty.
