We rescued the Israelites from the humiliating torment 30 They (had experienced) under the Pharaoh. He was certainly a tyrant, guilty of excess. 31 And We exalted them over the other people knowingly, 32 and sent them revelations of which some were a clear trial for them. 33 Yet these say: 34 There is naught but our first death, and we shall not be raised again. 35 Bring us our fathers, if what you say is true' 36 Are they better or the people of Tubba and those afore them? We destroyed them; verily they were culprits. 37 It was not in idle sport that We created the heavens and the earth and all that is between them. 38 We did not create them except in truth, but most of them do not know. 39 The Day of Final Decision is the appointed time for all; 40 A Day whereon a friend shall not avail a friend at all, nor shall they be helped. 41 save him upon whom God has mercy; He is the All-mighty, the All-compassionate. 42
