He Frowned ('Abasa)
42 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Stars (Al-Najm) before Destiny (Al-Qadr)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
۞ He frowned and turned away 1 Because there came to him the blind man, [interrupting]. 2 But what would make you perceive, [O Muhammad], that perhaps he might be purified 3 or yet remember, and the Reminder profit him. 4 Yet you pay attention 5 to a rich man, 6 although thou art not accountable for his failure to attain to purity; 7 And as for him who cometh unto thee running, 8 and who has fear of God, 9 him didst thou disregard! 10 No indeed, this is a Reminder; 11 so let those who want to follow its guidance do so. 12 [It is recorded] in honored sheets, 13 Exalted, Purified, 14 (Written) by the hands of scribes- 15 noble and most virtuous. 16 Perish the human! How unthankful he is! 17 [Does man ever consider] out of what substance [God] creates him? 18 From a (sperm) drop He created him and then determined him, 19 Then He makes the Path easy for him; 20 and in the end He causes him to die and brings him to the grave; 21 Then, when He willed, He brought him out. (As during the night of Holy Prophet’s ascension, when all the Prophets gathered behind him in the Al Aqsa mosque in Jerusalem. Or when Allah will raise everyone on the Day of Resurrection.) 22 By no means he performed not that which He had commanded him. 23 Let the human reflect on the food he eats, 24 How We pour water in showers 25 And We split the earth in fragments, 26 Thereby produced grain in it. 27 grapes, and fresh fodder, 28 and olives, and palms, 29 and dense-tree'd gardens, 30 And fruits and grass, 31 A provision for you and for your cattle. 32 But, when the Blast comes, 33 on that Day each person will flee from his brother, 34 his mother and his father, 35 And his wife and his children, 36 on that Day, to every one of them will his own state be of sufficient concern. 37 Many faces will that day be bright, 38 and be cheerful and joyous. 39 whereas some faces will be covered with dust 40 Blackness overcoming them. 41 Those are the disbelievers, the wicked. 42
True are the words of Allah the Almighty.

قراءة القرآن مترجماً إلى الإنجليزية أو أية لغة أخرى أشبه بقراءة كتب التفسير من قراءة ترجمات حرفية.
Reading the Quran translated into English, or any other language, is more like reading books of interpretation than reading literal translations.
