Have you heard the story of the honorable guests of Abraham? 24 When they entered unto him, saying 'Peace!' he said 'Peace! You are a people unknown to me.' 25 Then he turned quietly to his household, and brought forth a fat [roasted] calf, 26 And placed it near them; he said, "Will you not eat?" 27 Then he conceived a fear about them, and they said: 'Have no fear', and gave him the glad tidings that he was to have a knowledgeable son. 28 So his wife came screaming, and striking her forehead cried, “What! For a barren old woman?” 29 They said, "Even so has thy Lord spoken: and He is full of Wisdom and Knowledge." 30 ۞ (Abraham) said: "And what, O ye Messengers, is your errand (now)?" 31 They replied: “Behold, we have been sent to a wicked people 32 so that we bring down stones of clay upon them 33 marked by your Lord for the sinful' 34 And in the course of time We brought out [of Lot 's city] such [few] believers as were there: 35 But We found not there any just (Muslim) persons except in one house: 36 and We left therein a Sign for those who fear the grievous chastisement. 37 There is also a Sign for you in the story of Moses when We sent him with a clear authority to Pharaoh. 38 The Pharaoh and his forces turned away from him, saying, "He is either a magician or an insane person". 39 We seized him and his army and threw them into the sea. He himself was to be blamed. 40 And in the 'Ad (people) (was another Sign): Behold, We sent against them the devastating Wind: 41 It left out nothing in its path, but which it split up into fragments. 42 And in the Thamud (was another Sign): Behold, they were told, "Enjoy (your brief day) for a little while!" 43 Then they disdained the command of their Lord; wherefore the bolt laid hold of them even while they looked on. 44 They were unable to stand up, nor were they helped. 45 (So had We destroyed) the people of Noah before them: They were surely a sinful people. 46
