The Comet (Al-Taareq)
In the name of God, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
By the heaven and the night-comer 1 what do you know what the night-visitor is? 2 It is the piercing star - 3 There is no living being but there is a protector over it. 4 Let the human reflect of what he is created. 5 He is created from a gushing fluid 6 Issuing from (the pelvis) between the backbone and the ribs. 7 He certainly has the power to bring him back to life. 8 upon the day when the secrets are tried, 9 [man] will have no power, and no helper. 10 By the Firmament which returns (in its round), 11 And the earth which splitteth (with the growth of trees and plants) 12 Indeed, the Qur'an is a decisive statement, 13 And it is not amusement. 14 They (disbelievers) plot every evil plan, 15 And I am planning a scheme. 16 so bear with those who deny the truth, and let them be for a little while. 17
