And indeed We rescued the Descendants of Israel from a disgraceful torture. 30 From Firaun; he was indeed proud, among the transgressors. 31 and We chose them, out of a knowledge, above all beings, 32 and gave them such signs [of Our grace] as would clearly presage a test. 33 Most surely these do say: 34 'There is nothing except the first death, we shall never be revived. 35 “Therefore bring back our forefathers, if you are truthful!” 36 Are they better or the people of Tubba' and those who were before them whom We destroyed? Indeed they were sinners. 37 It was not in idle sport that We created the heavens and the earth and all that is between them. 38 We created them not except for just ends: but most of them do not understand. 39 VERILY, the Day of Distinction [between the true and the false] is the term appointed for all of them: 40 On that Day no cousin shall help his cousin and they shall not be helped 41 save those upon whom God will have bestowed His grace and mercy: for, verily, He alone is almighty, a dispenser of grace. 42
