Commemorate Our Servant Job. Behold he cried to his Lord: "The Evil One has afflicted me with distress and suffering!" 41 Urge with your foot; here is a cool washing-place and a drink. 42 And We gave him his family and the like of them with them, as a mercy from Us, and as a reminder to those possessed of understanding. 43 "And take in your hand a bundle of thin grass and strike therewith (your wife), and break not your oath. Truly! We found him patient. How excellent (a) slave! Verily, he was ever oft-returning in repentance (to Us)! 44 And commemorate Our Servants Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob, possessors of Power and Vision. 45 Verily We did choose them for a special (purpose)- proclaiming the Message of the Hereafter. 46 They were, in Our sight, truly, of the company of the Elect and the Good. 47 And remember Ishmael, Elisha, and Dhu al-Kifl. All were of the best. 48 This is a Reminder, and verily, for the Muttaqun (pious and righteous persons - see V. 2:2) is a good final return (Paradise), 49 Gardens of Eden, whereof the gates are opened for them, 50 Therein will they recline (at ease): Therein can they call (at pleasure) for fruit in abundance, and (delicious) drink; 51 ۞ and wherein there shall be with them well-matched, bashful mates. 52 This is what you are promised for the Day of Reckoning: 53 This is Our provision for you, never to end. 54 This is for the virtuous; and indeed for the rebellious is a wretched destination. 55 Hell; they shall enter it, so evil is the resting-place. 56 All this; so let them taste it - boiling water and pus, 57 and, coupled with it, further [suffering] of a similar nature. 58 [And they will say to one another: "Do you see] this crowd of people rushing headlong to join you?" "No welcome to them! Indeed, they are headed for the fire!" 59 (The followers of the misleaders will say): "Nay, you (too)! No welcome for you! It is you (misleaders) who brought this upon us (because you misled us in the world), so evil is this place to stay in!" 60 They will say: 'Our Lord, give those who brought this upon us double the punishment of the Fire' 61 They will say to one another: “But why do we not see those whom we considered him among the wicked? 62 What, did we take them for a laughing-stock? Or have our eyes swerved away from them?' 63 Indeed, that is truth - the quarreling of the people of the Fire. 64
