In the Name of Allah, the Most Beneficent, the Most Merciful
Read (Prophet Muhammad) in the Name of your Lord who created, 1 Created man, out of a (mere) clot of congealed blood: 2 Read! Your Lord is the Most Generous, 3 The One Who taught to write with the pen. 4 taught man what he did not know! 5 Nay, but man doth transgress all bounds, 6 Because he sees himself free from want. 7 Lo! unto thy Lord is the return. 8 What thinkest thou? He who forbids 9 a servant of Ours from prayer? 10 Bethinkest thou, if he is himself guided, 11 and enjoins piety? 12 What do you think? Have you seen if he belies and turns away, 13 Knoweth he not that Allah doth see? 14 Yes certainly, if he does not desist, We will seize him by the forelock. 15 A forelock, lying, sinning. 16 So let him call on his concourse! 17 We will call on the angels of punishment (to deal with him)! 18 Nay! (O Muhammad (Peace be upon him))! Do not obey him (Abu Jahl). Fall prostrate and draw near to Allah! ۩ 19
