Al-Aadeyaat
The Galloppers (Al-Aadeyaat)
11 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Afternoon (Al-'Asr) before Bounty (Al-Kawthar)
Allah - beginning with the name of - the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
I swear by the runners breathing pantingly, 1 striking sparks of fire with their hooves, 2 rushing to assault at morn, 3 And therein raising dust. 4 cleaving there with a host! 5 Indeed, the human is ungrateful to his Lord. 6 And to that (fact) he bears witness (by his deeds); 7 And violent is he in his love of wealth. 8 ۞ Is he not aware of the time when the contents of the graves will be brought out? 9 And that which is in the breasts (of men) shall be made known. 10 On that day their Lord surely knows all about them! 11
True are the words of God the Almighty.
