Prostration (Al-Sajdah)
In the Name of Allah, the Most Beneficent, the Most Merciful
Alif. Lam. Mim. 1 The bestowal from on high of this divine writ issues, beyond any doubt, from the Sustainer of all the worlds: 2 Or do they say, "He invented it"? Rather, it is the truth from your Lord, [O Muhammad], that you may warn a people to whom no warner has come before you [so] perhaps they will be guided. 3 It is Allah who created the heavens and the earth and whatever is between them in six days; then He established Himself above the Throne. You have not besides Him any protector or any intercessor; so will you not be reminded? 4 He rules (all) affairs from the heavens to the earth: in the end will (all affairs) go up to Him, on a Day, the space whereof will be (as) a thousand years of your reckoning. 5 Such is He, the Knower of all things, hidden and open, the Exalted (in power), the Merciful;- 6 The One Who created all things excellent, and Who initiated the creation of man from clay. 7 Then He made his offspring from semen of worthless water (male and female sexual discharge). 8 then He duly proportioned him, and breathed into him of His spirit, and bestowed upon you ears and eyes and hearts. And yet, little thanks do you give. 9 They say: 'What, when we have been destroyed in the earth, shall we indeed be in a new creation' Indeed, they disbelieve that they will meet their Lord. 10 ۞ Say: "The angel of death, who is set over you, will take your souls, then you shall be brought to your Lord." 11
