That was the reasoning about Us, which We gave to Abraham (to use) against his people: We raise whom We will, degree after degree: for thy Lord is full of wisdom and knowledge. 83 We gave him Isaac and Jacob, each of whom We guided as We had guided Noah before. Among his descendants were David and Solomon, and Job, Joseph, Moses and Aaron. Thus do We reward the righteous. 84 and (Prophets) Zachariah, John, Jesus and Elias, each was of the righteous, 85 And Ismail and Al-Yasha and Yunus and Lut; and every one We made to excel (in) the worlds: 86 And some of their ancestors and their descendants and their brothers; and We chose them and guided them to the Straight Path. 87 That is God's guidance; He guides by it whom He will of His servants; had they been idolaters, it would have failed them, the things they did. 88 Those are they unto whom We gave the Scripture and command and prophethood. But if these disbelieve therein, then indeed We shall entrust it to a people who will not be disbelievers therein. 89 These are they whom Allah guided, therefore follow their guidance. Say: I do not ask you for any reward for it; it is nothing but a reminder to the nations. 90
