He Frowned ('Abasa)
In the name of God, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
۞ HE FROWNED and turned away 1 Because the blind man came unto him. 2 You never know. Perhaps he wanted to purify himself, 3 Or be admonished, so that the admonition might have profited him? 4 As for he who thinks himself without need, 5 you attended to him, 6 Whereas it is not on thee that he is not cleansed. 7 but as for one who comes to you, eagerly 8 and fearfully, 9 you pay him no heed. 10 By no means (should it be so)! For it is indeed a Message of instruction: 11 So whoever wills, let him pay attention to it. 12 upon pages high-honoured, 13 Exalted, purified, 14 Written by the hands of emissaries. 15 Honourable and obedient. 16 May (the disbelieving) human being be condemned! What makes him disbelieve? 17 Out of what did Allah create him? 18 From a single sperm He created, then proportioned him, 19 Then (as for) the way-- He has made it easy (for him) 20 Then causeth him to die, and burieth him; 21 then, He will raise him when He wills. 22 By no means hath he fulfilled what Allah hath commanded him. 23 Let man, then, consider [the sources of] his food: 24 how We pour down rain in abundance, 25 and cleaved the earth, cleaving it asunder; 26 Then We cause to grow therein the grain, 27 And grapes and herbage, 28 and olive trees and date palms 29 and dense-tree'd gardens, 30 fruits, and grass. 31 [As] enjoyment for you and your grazing livestock. 32 But when the deafening blast is sounded, 33 On the day when a man fleeth from his brother 34 his mother, his father, 35 And his wife and his children, 36 every man that day shall have business to suffice him. 37 Some faces will shine, 38 and be cheerful and joyous. 39 And many will be dust-begrimed, 40 Darkness shall cover them. 41 those will be ones who denied the truth and were immersed in iniquity. 42
