The Rolling (Al-Takweer)
In the Name of Allah, the Most Beneficent, the Most Merciful
When the sun is covered, 1 When the stars fall, losing their lustre; 2 And when the hills are moved, 3 when the pregnant camels shall be neglected, 4 And when the wild beasts shall be gathered together, 5 And when the seas are set afire. 6 And when the souls he paired, 7 questions are asked about the baby girls buried alive, 8 For what sin she was killed, 9 And when the Writs shall be lain open, 10 and when Heaven is laid bare; 11 And when hell is lighted, 12 when Paradise is brought close: 13 then shall each person know what he has brought along. 14 I swear by the receding stars, 15 That run their course (and) hide themselves, 16 The closing night, 17 And by the morning when it shineth forth, 18 That this is in truth the word of an honoured messenger, 19 with strength endowed, secure with Him who in almightiness is enthroned 20 there he is obeyed and held trustworthy. 21 Your companion is not possessed; 22 he truly saw him on the clear horizon; 23 Nor of the unseen is he a tenacious concealer. 24 Nor is this the utterance of a devil worthy to be stoned. 25 Where to are you then heading? 26 It is nothing but Good Counsel for everyone in the world, 27 To whomsoever among you who wills to walk straight, 28 And you will not, unless (it be) that Allah wills, the Lord of the 'Alamin (mankind, jinns and all that exists). 29
