(In the days of old), Noah cried to Us, and We are the best to hear prayer. 75 And We saved him and his family from the great affliction. 76 And, his progeny, them We made the survivors (i.e. Shem, Ham and Japheth). 77 and We established for him a good name among posterity. 78 Peace be with Noah among all men in the worlds. 79 That is how We reward those who do good. 80 He was one of Our believing servants. 81 Then We drowned the other (disbelievers and polytheists, etc.). 82 ۞ And, verily, among those who followed his [Nuh's (Noah)] way (Islamic Monotheism) was Ibrahim (Abraham). 83 Behold! he approached his Lord with a sound heart. 84 When he said to his father and his people: "What is this you worship? 85 "Is it a falsehood- gods other than Allah- that ye desire? 86 What, then, do you think of the Sustainer of all the worlds?" 87 He cast a glance at the stars 88 Then he said: Surely I am sick (of your worshipping these). 89 So they departed from him turning their backs. 90 Then he turned towards their gods and said: "Why do you not eat (of these offerings)? 91 Why do you not speak?" 92 And then he fell upon them, smiting them with his right hand. 93 His people came rushing towards him, 94 He said, “What! You worship what you yourselves have sculpted?” 95 and God created you and what you make?' 96 They said, "Let us build a fire and throw him into the flames". 97 They had contrived an evil plan against him, but We abased them all. 98 And he said, “Indeed I shall go to my Lord Who will guide me.” 99 "My Lord! Grant me (offspring) from the righteous." 100 Wherefore We gave him the glad tidings of a boy gentle. 101 And when he attained to working with him, he said: O my son! surely I have seen in a dream that I should sacrifice you; consider then what you see. He said: O my father! do what you are commanded; if Allah please, you will find me of the patient ones. 102 When they had both submitted to God, and he had laid his son down on his face, 103 We cried out: “O Abraham, 104 “You have indeed made the dream come true”; and this is how We reward the virtuous. 105 For this was obviously a trial- 106 We ransomed him with a great sacrifice, 107 And We perpetuated (praise) to him among the later generations. 108 Peace be with Abraham. 109 Thus do We reward the doers of good. 110 Surely he was one of Our believing servants. 111 We gave him the glad news of the birth of Isaac, one of the righteous Prophets. 112 And We blessed him and Isaac. Among the offspring of the two some did good and some plainly wronged themselves. 113
