The Human (Al-Insan)
In the Name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
Has there not been over Man a long period of Time, when he was nothing - (not even) mentioned? 1 Verily We created man from a sperm yoked (to the ovum) to bring out his real substance, then gave him hearing and sight. 2 Surely We have shown him the way: he may be thankful or unthankful. 3 We have prepared for unbelievers chains and collars and a blazing fire. 4 As to the Righteous, they shall drink of a Cup (of Wine) mixed with Kafur,- 5 A spring wherefrom the slaves of Allah will drink, causing it to gush forth abundantly. 6 They keep their vows and fear a day the woe of which will spread far and wide; 7 And they give food out of love for Him to the poor and the orphan and the captive: 8 'We feed you only for the Face of God; we desire no recompense from you, no thankfulness; 9 We fear the dismal day calamitous from our Lord." 10 So Allah shall guard them against the woe of that Day, and will procure them freshness and joy, 11 And their recompense shall be Paradise, and silken garments, because they were patient. 12 Reclining therein on raised thrones, they will see there neither the excessive heat of the sun, nor the excessive bitter cold, (as in Paradise there is no sun and no moon). 13 And close upon them will be the shades thereof, and low will hang the clusters thereof greatly. 14 Rounds of silver cups and silver beakers, looking like glass, will be presented upon them. 15 crystal-like, [but] of silver - the measure whereof they alone will determine. 16 And they will be given to drink there of a Cup (of Wine) mixed with Zanjabil,- 17 from a flowing spring called Salsabil. 18 ۞ And immortal youths will wait upon them: when thou seest them, thou wouldst deem them to be scattered pearls; 19 When you look around, you will see delights and great dominion. 20 Upon them will be green Garments of fine silk and heavy brocade, and they will be adorned with Bracelets of silver; and their Lord will give to them to drink of a Wine Pure and Holy. 21 This will be their reward and their efforts will be appreciated. 22
