The Snatchers (Al-Naze'aat)
Allah - beginning with the name of - the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
I swear by the angels who violently pull out the souls of the wicked, 1 By the angels who release with gentle release. 2 And by those who float in space, 3 And then they speed with foremost speed. 4 and by the angels who regulate the affairs, (you will certainly be resurrected). 5 On the day when the first trumpet sound blasts 6 There will follow it the subsequent [one]. 7 Many a heart will flutter on that day! 8 Unable to lift their gaze. 9 (Now) they are saying: Shall we really be restored to our first state 10 even after we are fragmented bones' 11 [And] they add, "That, then, would be a return with loss!" 12 Surely it will need but one shout, 13 and they will be upon the surface of the earth (alive). 14 Has there reached you the story of Moses? - 15 When his Lord called him in the sacred valley of Tuwa, 16 "Go to the Pharaoh who has become refractory, 17 and say: "Will you purify yourself, 18 "'And that I guide thee to thy Lord, so thou shouldst fear Him?'" 19 So Moosa showed him a magnificent sign. 20 but he denied it as false and disobeyed, 21 Then he turned away, deliberating, 22 and gathered his people together 23 Saying, "I am your Lord, Most High". 24 And thereupon God took him to task, [and made him] a warning example in the life to come as well as in this world. 25 Indeed in this is a lesson for one who fears. 26
