The Inevitable (Al-Waaqe'ah)
In the name of God, The Most Gracious, The Dispenser of Grace
۞ When the Event (the resurrection) comes 1 there will be nought that could give the lie to its having come to pass, 2 It will bring low (some); (and others) it will exalt; 3 When the earth is shaken violently, 4 And the mountains shall be crumbled to atoms, 5 Becoming dust scattered abroad, 6 And ye are classes three. 7 Then the companions of the right - what are the companions of the right? 8 And the companions of the left - what are the companions of the left? 9 The foremost ones (in faith and virtue) - the foremost ones in receiving their reward. 10 These will be those nearest to Allah. 11 in the Gardens of Delight, 12 A [large] company of the former peoples 13 And a few of the later peoples, 14 on lavish couches 15 Reclining on them, facing each other. 16 Surrounded by immortal boys. 17 With bowls and ewers and a cup from a pure spring 18 Their heads shall not ache with it, nor shall they lose their senses. 19 And fruits such as they choose, 20 And the flesh of fowls, any that they may desire. 21 And companions with big beautiful eyes 22 Like pearls safely hidden. 23 A reward for what they used to do. 24 There they shall hear no idle talk nor any sinful speech. 25 except each other's greetings of, "Peace be with you". 26 The Companions of the Right Hand,- what will be the Companions of the Right Hand? 27 They will live amid the thornless lot trees 28 Bananatrees, piled 29 and extended shade, 30 and waters gushing, 31 and abundant fruits, 32 Whose season is not limited, and their supply will not be cut off, 33 and raised couches 34 Indeed, We have produced the women of Paradise in a [new] creation 35 And made them virgin - pure (and undefiled), - 36 Devoted [to their husbands] and of equal age, 37 with those who have attained to righteousness: 38
