Overwhelming (Al-Ghaasheyah)
In the Name of God, the Merciful, the Compassionate
Hath there come unto thee the story of the Enveloping Event? 1 Some faces will on that Day be downcast, 2 Labouring, striving hard. 3 (Yet) Going into the blazing fire. 4 given to drink from a boiling spring. 5 No food will there be for them but a bitter Dhari' 6 which neither sustains, nor satisfy hunger. 7 (Whereas other) faces on that Day will be joyful, 8 with their striving well-pleased, 9 In a lofty garden, 10 They shall hear therein no vain discourse; 11 There is a stream of running water in it; 12 raised couches, 13 and goblets laid out, 14 cushions ranged, 15 And carpets spread out. 16 Then do they not look at the camels - how they are created? 17 And at the sky, how it is raised aloft? 18 And at the mountains, how they are rooted? 19 And at the earth, how it is spread out? 20 So remind them (O Muhammad (Peace be upon him)), you are only a one who reminds. 21 You are not a watcher over them; 22 However, he who turns away and disbelieves - 23 Allah will chastise him with the greatest chastisement. 24 Lo! unto Us is their return 25 then upon Us shall rest their reckoning. 26
