The Rolling (Al-Takweer)
Allah - beginning with the name of - the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
When the sun is covered, 1 And when the stars fall down. 2 And when the mountains are made to pass away, 3 when the pregnant camels shall be neglected, 4 when the savage beasts are gathered 5 And when the seas rise, 6 And when the souls are paired. 7 And when the girl-child who was buried alive is asked. 8 for what sin she was slain, 9 When the scrolls are laid open; 10 when the sky is unveiled, 11 hell is made to blaze, 12 And when Paradise is brought near, 13 then shall a soul know what it has produced. 14 I swear by the receding stars, 15 stars which are visible during the night 16 And the Night as it dissipates; 17 And the morning when it brightens, 18 truly this is the word of a noble Messenger 19 one mighty and held in honour with the Lord of the Throne; 20 (One) to be obeyed, and trustworthy; 21 (O people of Makkah), your companion is not mad; 22 Surely he beheld Him on the clear horizon. 23 He is not avid of the Unseen. 24 Nor is it the word of a satan accursed. 25 where then are you going? 26 It is naught but a reminder for the nations, 27 For him among you who pleases to go straight. 28 And what will you wish, except if Allah wills – the Lord of the Creation. 29
