The Rolling (Al-Takweer)
In the Name of God, the Merciful, the Compassionate
WHEN THE SUN is folded up, 1 When the stars fall, losing their lustre; 2 and the mountains have been taken, 3 The ten-month pregnant female camels are abandoned, 4 And when wild animals are herded together. 5 And when the seas are filled with flame 6 when the souls are divided into different classes, 7 And when the female infant buried alive is asked 8 for what crime she had been slain, 9 And when the Writs shall be lain open, 10 And when the heaven has its covering removed, 11 and when Hell is set ablaze, 12 And Paradise brought near, 13 then, each soul shall know what it has produced. 14 No indeed; I swear by the alternating stars 15 And by the planets that move swiftly and hide themselves, 16 and by the night as it recedes, 17 and the morn as it softly breathes: 18 Most surely it is the Word of an honored messenger, 19 Full of power, well-established (in position) with the Lord and Master of the Throne, 20 Obeyed there [in the heavens] and trustworthy. 21 And your companion is not insane. 22 He had surely seen Him on the clear horizon. 23 And this Prophet is not miserly upon the hidden. (Allah gave the knowledge of the hidden to the Holy Prophet – peace and blessings be upon him.) 24 The Quran is not the word of condemned satan. 25 So where are you going? 26 This is a reminder for all the peoples of the world, 27 For those of you who desire to walk the path that is straight, 28 but will you shall not, unless God wills, the Lord of all Being. 29
