If We extend anyone's life, We reverse his development. Can they not use their reason? 68 We did not teach him (to wit, the Messenger) poetry and it does not behove him. This is none but an Admonition, and a Clear Book 69 that he may warn the living, and so that Judgement may be passed against the unbelievers. 70 Do they not see Our handiwork: We created for them cattle which they own? 71 We have subdued these to them, and some of them they ride and some of them they eat; 72 And they have therefrom other benefits and drinks. Will they not then give thanks? 73 But [nay,] they take to worshipping deities other than God, [hoping] to be succoured [by them, and not knowing that] 74 Those deities can render them no help. Yet these devotees act as though they were an army in waiting for them. 75 So let not their speech grieve thee (O Muhammad). Lo! We know what they conceal and what proclaim. 76 IS MAN, then, not aware that it is We who create him out of a [mere] drop of sperm - whereupon, lo! he shows himself endowed with the power to think and to argue? 77 And he has struck for Us a similitude and forgotten his creation; he says, 'Who shall quicken the bones when they are decayed?' 78 Say: He will revive them Who produced them at the first, for He is Knower of every creation, 79 Who giveth you out of the green tree fire, and lo! ye kindle therewith. 80 Is not He Who created the heavens and the earth Able to create the like of them? Aye, that He is! for He is the All-Wise Creator, 81 His Being alone is such that when He wills a thing to be, He but says unto it, "Be" — and it is. 82 All glory belongs to the One in whose hands is the control of all things. To Him you will all return. 83
