A Sign for them is the earth that is dead: We do give it life, and produce grain therefrom, of which ye do eat. 33 And We produce therein orchard with date-palms and vines, and We cause springs to gush forth therein: 34 so that they might eat of its fruit and the labor of their hands. Will they not give thanks? 35 Purity is to Him Who created all pairs, from what the earth grows, and of themselves, and from the things they do not know. 36 And a sign for them is the night; We strip the day out of it, thereupon they are in darkness. 37 And the sun -- it runs to a fixed resting-place; that is the ordaining of the All-mighty, the All-knowing. 38 And the Moon,- We have measured for her mansions (to traverse) till she returns like the old (and withered) lower part of a date-stalk. 39 Neither does it lie in the sun's power to overtake the moon nor can the night outstrip the day. All glide along, each in its own orbit. 40 That We bore their progeny in the laden ark is a sign for them; 41 and We have created for them the like of it whereon they ride; 42 And if We will, We drown them, and there is no help for them, neither can they be saved; 43 It is only Our Mercy (that rescues them) and enables enjoyment of life for a while. 44 Whenever they are told to guard themselves against sin and the forth coming torment so that perhaps they could receive mercy 45 And no sign comes to them from the signs of their Lord except that they are from it turning away. 46 When they are told: "Spend of what God has given you," the unbelievers say to those who believe: "Why should we feed those whom God should have fed if He pleased?" You are only in palpable error. 47 And they say: When will this threat come to pass, if you are truthful? 48 They wait not for aught but a single cry which will overtake them while they yet contend with one another. 49 Then they will not be able to make a will or return to their families. 50
