The All Compassionate (Al-Rahman)
In the Name of Allah, the Most Beneficent, the Most Merciful
۞ The Compassionate. 1 Taught the Qur'an, 2 He has created man: 3 He taught him eloquent speech. 4 The sun and the moon follow a reckoning. 5 And the plants and the trees prostrate (for Him). 6 And Allah has raised the sky; and He has set the balance. 7 That ye exceed not the measure, 8 Give just weight and do not skimp the scales. 9 It is He Who has spread out the earth for (His) creatures: 10 with fruit thereon, and palm trees with sheathed clusters [of dates,] 11 and grain growing tall on its stalks, and sweet-smelling plants. 12 Then which of the Blessings of your Lord will you both (jinns and men) deny? 13 He has created man out of sounding clay, like pottery, 14 And He created Jinns from fire free of smoke: 15 Then which of the favours of your Lord will ye deny? 16 (He is) the Lord of the two easts (places of sunrise during early summer and early winter) and the Lord of the two wests (places of sunset during early summer and early winter). 17 (Jinn and mankind) - which of the favors of your Lord do you then deny? 18 He has let loosed the two seas (the salt water and the sweet) meeting together. 19 With an interstice between them which they cannot cross. 20 Which of your Lord's wonders would you deny? 21 Pearls and corals come from both. 22 So O men and jinns! Which favour of your Lord will you deny? 23 His are the high-sailed vessels in deep ocean like the mountains. 24 Then which of the Blessings of your Lord will you both (jinns and men) deny? 25
