Have you considered he who turns his back, 33 And gives a little and (then) withholds. 34 Or, does he possess knowledge of the Unseen, and can therefore see? 35 Has he not heard what is contained in the Book of Moses, 36 and Abraham, he who paid his debt in full? 37 Namely, that no bearer of burdens can bear the burden of another; 38 nor can man achieve anything without hard labor. 39 and that [the fruit of] his striving shall soon be seen; 40 And only then will he receive his recompense in full; 41 and that the final end is with your Lord, 42 It is He who causes laughter and weeping. 43 And He who ordains death and life; 44 And that He createth the pair, the male and the female. 45 out of a [mere] drop of sperm as it is poured forth, 46 And that on Him is the bringing forth a second time; 47 That it is He who makes you rich and contented; 48 And that He is the Lord of the Sirius; 49 It was He who totally destroyed the former 'Ad 50 And Thamud - and He did not spare [them] - 51 And also the people of Nuh aforetime. Verily they were even greater wrong-doers and more contumacious. 52 And that it is He Who threw down the upturned townships? 53 and caused them to be covered with that which He covered them with. 54 Which then of thy Lord's benefits wilt thou doubt? 55 This [Prophet] is a warner like the former warners. 56 The Imminent is imminent; 57 apart from God none can disclose it. 58 Do you then wonder at this announcement? 59 And you laugh and do not weep 60 While you are proudly sporting? 61 But fall ye down in prostration to Allah, and adore (Him)! ۩ 62
