When the messengers came to the family of Lot, 61 He said: "Verily! You are people unknown to me." 62 They answered: "Nay, but we have come unto thee with [the announcement of] something that they [who are given to evil] have always been wont to call in question, 63 And we have brought unto thee the truth, and verily we say sooth. 64 "So leave with your family late in the night, yourself remaining in the rear, and let none turn back to look, and go where you will be commanded." 65 And We informed him the decision of this command, that at morning the root of the disbelievers would be cut off. 66 The people of the town rejoicingly 67 He said: verily these are my guests, so disgrace me not. 68 "And fear Allah and disgrace me not." 69 They (people of the city) said: "Did we not forbid you to entertain (or protect) any of the 'Alamin (people, foreigners, strangers, etc. from us)?" 70 He said: Here are my daughters, if ye must be doing (so). 71 Verily, by your life (O Muhammad SAW), in their wild intoxication, they were wandering blindly. 72 An explosion struck them at sunrise. 73 We turned the town upside down and rained upon them stones of clay. 74 There are great Signs in this for those endowed with intelligence. 75 surely it is on a way yet remaining; 76 surely in this there is a sign for those who believe. 77 The dwellers of the Wood (near Midian) were also wicked. 78 So We chastised them. The desolate locations of both communities lie on a well-known highway. 79
