The Inevitable (Al-Waaqe'ah)
In the name of Allah, the Merciful, the Compassionate
۞ When the forthcoming event does occur. 1 And there can be no denying of its befalling. 2 Abasing exalting. 3 when the earth will suddenly shake with a terrible shaking, 4 And the mountains shall be crumbled to atoms, 5 Becoming dust scattered abroad, 6 And ye shall be sorted out into three classes. 7 Then (there will be) the Companions of the Right Hand;- What will be the Companions of the Right Hand? 8 And the companions of the left - what are the companions of the left? 9 As for the Foremost, they will be the foremost! 10 those are they brought near (to their Lord) 11 They will dwell in the Gardens of Bliss: 12 (a throng of the ancients 13 and a few from later times. 14 On couches in wrought with gold. 15 reclining on them facing each other; 16 Round about them will (serve) youths of perpetual (freshness), 17 carrying goblets and ewers and cups filled with the purest wine, 18 Whereby there shall be neither headiness nor will they be inebriated. 19 And with fruits, any that they may select: 20 Bird meats that they relish, 21 And [with them will be their] companions pure, most beautiful of eye, 22 like unto pearls [still] hidden in their shells. 23 All this shall be theirs as a reward for their deeds. 24 There hear they no vain speaking nor recrimination 25 but only the tiding of inner soundness and peace. 26 And the companions of the right hand; how happy are the companions of the right hand! 27 Amid thornless lote-trees, 28 And banana-trees (with fruits), one above another. 29 And a shade ever-spread. 30 and outpoured waters, 31 and abundant fruits, 32 undiminished and never denied 33 And raised couches. 34 Verily, We have created them (maidens) of special creation. 35 and shall have made them virgins, 36 Devoted [to their husbands] and of equal age, 37 All this will be for the People on the Right; 38
