And if they deny you, [O Muhammad], then say, "For me are my deeds, and for you are your deeds. You are disassociated from what I do, and I am disassociated from what you do." 41 And there are those of them who hear you, but can you make the deaf to hear though they will not understand? 42 Some of them look toward you: But can you show the blind the way even when they cannot see? 43 Truly! Allah wrongs not mankind in aught; but mankind wrong themselves. 44 And on the day when He shall gather them together, (when it will seem) as though they had tarried but an hour of the day, recognising one another, those will verily have perished who denied the meeting with Allah and were not guided. 45 Whether We let thee (O Muhammad) behold something of that which We promise them or (whether We) cause thee to die, still unto Us is their return, and Allah, moreover, is Witness over what they do. 46 And for every nation is a messenger. So when their messenger comes, it will be judged between them in justice, and they will not be wronged 47 They say:'If what you promise is true, when will this threat be fulfilled?' 48 Say: I have no power to hurt or benefit myself, save that which Allah willeth. For every nation there is an appointed time. When their time cometh, then they cannot put it off an hour, nor hasten (it). 49 Say: "Do ye see,- if His punishment should come to you by night or by day,- what portion of it would the sinners wish to hasten? 50 And when it overtakes you, is it then that you will believe in it, now, when you already try to hasten it! 51 The wrong-doers will then be told: 'Suffer now the abiding chastisement. How else can you be rewarded except according to your deeds?' 52 They ask you if what you say is true? Tell them: 'Yes, by my Lord, this is altogether true, and you have no power to prevent the chastisement from befalling.' 53
