Nay! By the moon 32 by the retreating night, 33 and by the day when it dawns (with its radiance), 34 Verily, it (Hell, or their denial of the Prophet Muhammad SAW, or the Day of Resurrection) is but one of the greatest calamities. 35 It is a warning for mankind 36 to everyone of you, whether he chooses to come forward or to hang back! 37 Every soul is mortgaged for its own deeds. 38 Except the Companions of the Right Hand. 39 (They will be) in Gardens (of Delight): they will question each other, 40 about the sinners. 41 "What has caused you to enter Hell?" 42 They will reply: 'We were not among those who prayed 43 and neither did we feed the needy; 44 We indulged and persisted in useless disputes, 45 And we used to deny the Day of Recompense 46 "Until there came to us (the death) that is certain." 47 Then will no intercession of (any) intercessors profit them. 48 Why now turn they away from the Admonishment, 49 As if they were alarmed donkeys 50 Fleeing from a hunter, or a lion, or a beast of prey. 51 Nay, every man of them desires to be -- given -- scrolls unrolled. 52 Nay! But they fear not the Hereafter (from Allah's punishment). 53 There is no doubt that the Quran is a guide. 54 So whosoever will (let him read it), and receive admonition (from it)! 55 And they will not heed unless Allah willeth (it). He is the fount of fear. He is the fount of Mercy. 56
