The Rolling (Al-Takweer)
In the Name of Allah, the Most Beneficent, the Most Merciful
When the sun (with its spacious light) is folded up; 1 And when the stars darken, 2 and the mountains have been taken, 3 And when the she-camels big with young shall be abandoned, 4 when the savage beasts shall be brought together, 5 when the seas shall be set boiling, 6 And when souls are reunited, 7 When the female (infant), buried alive, is questioned - 8 for what offence was she killed? 9 and when the scrolls of (men's) deeds shall be unfolded, 10 And when the sky is torn away, 11 hell is made to blaze, 12 and Paradise brought nigh: 13 then shall each person know what he has brought along. 14 I swear by the receding stars, 15 the runners, the sinkers, 16 And by oath of the night when it turns back. 17 The rising dawn, 18 truly this is the word of a noble Messenger 19 of power, given a rank by the Owner of the Throne 20 Obeyed one; then trustworthy. 21 For, this fellow-man of yours is not a madman: 22 He had surely seen Him on the clear horizon. 23 He (Muhammad) is not accused of lying about the unseen. 24 And it (the Quran) is not the word of the outcast Shaitan (Satan). 25 So where are you going? 26 It is naught but a Reminder unto all beings, 27 For the one among you who wishes to become upright. 28 And you will not, unless (it be) that Allah wills, the Lord of the 'Alamin (mankind, jinns and all that exists). 29
