EXHORT, then, [O Prophet, all men:] for, by thy Sustainer's grace, thou art neither a soothsayer nor a madman. 29 Or do they say:- "A Poet! we await for him some calamity (hatched) by Time!" 30 Say: 'Await! I shall be awaiting with you.' 31 Or, do their intellects order them to do this? Or, are they an insolent people? 32 Or do they say: "He himself has composed this [message]"? Nay, but they are not willing to believe! 33 Then let them produce a statement like it, if they should be truthful. 34 Or were they created by nothing, or were they the creators [of themselves]? 35 Or did they create the heavens and the earth? Rather they are not certain. 36 Or have they the treasures of your Lord with them? Or have they been set in absolute authority? 37 Or do they have any stairs, climbing upon which they eavesdrop? So their eavesdropper should bring some clear proof! 38 Or does Allah have daughters whereas you have sons? 39 Or askest thou a hire from them so that they are with debt laden? 40 Or is the hidden with them, by which they pass judgements? 41 Or do they intend a plot (against thee)? But those who defy Allah are themselves involved in a Plot! 42 Have they, then, any deity other than God? Utterly remote is God, in His limitless glory, from anything to which men may ascribe a share in His divinity! 43 And if they were to see a fragment of the heaven falling, they would say: A heap of clouds. 44 So leave them alone till they meet their Day, in which they will sink into a fainting (with horror). 45 The Day when their plotting will avail them nothing and no help shall be given them. 46 And verily, for those who do wrong, there is another punishment (i.e. the torment in this world and in their graves) before this, but most of them know not. [Tafsir At-Tabari, Vol. 27, Page 36]. 47 So wait patiently for the Judgement of your Lord -- you are certainly under Our watchful eye. And glorify and celebrate the praises of your Lord when you rise up [from your sleep]. 48 Extol His glory at night, and at the setting of the stars. 49
Allah the Almighty always says the truth.
