The Splitting (Al-Inshiqaaq)
In the name of God, The Most Gracious, The Dispenser of Grace
۞ When the sky is rent asunder 1 And it hearkeneth to its Lord, and is duteous. 2 And when the earth is stretched forth, 3 And has cast out that within it and relinquished [it] 4 And obeys its Lord and it must. 5 O man, indeed you have to surely run towards your Lord, and to meet him. 6 So whoever is given his record of deeds in his right hand – 7 He shall be reckoned with by an easy reckoning, 8 And he shall return unto his people joyfully. 9 And as to him who is given his book behind his back, 10 they will say, "Woe to us!" 11 And [enter to] burn in a Blaze. 12 He verily lived joyous with his folk, 13 thinking he would never revert (to Us). 14 Yea indeed! His Sustainer did see all that was in him! 15 I do not need to swear by the sunset, 16 and by the night and what it enfolds, 17 and the moon when it is at the full, 18 You will surely go up level by level. 19 What aileth them, then, that they believe not 20 and when the Qur'an is recited to them, they do not prostrate themselves? ۩ 21 Instead, the unbelievers reject it, calling it a lie. 22 And Allah knows best what they gather (of good and bad deeds), 23 So give them good tidings of a painful chastisement, 24 unless it be such [of them] as [repent, and] attain to faith, and do good works; for theirs shall be a reward unending! 25
