۞ No sooner the example of the son of Mary was mentioned than, lo and behold, your people raised a clamour 57 And say: "Are our aliha (gods) better or is he ['Iesa (Jesus)]?" They quoted not the above example except for argument. Nay! But they are a quarrelsome people. [(See VV. 21:97-101) - The Quran.] 58 He is purely a bondman (of Ours), whom We have favoured upon, and We made him an extraordinary example for the Descendants of Israel. 59 And if it were Our Will, We could make angels from amongst you, succeeding each other on the earth. 60 (Muhammad), tell them, "Jesus is a sign of the Hour of Doom. Have no doubt about it and follow me; this is the straight path. 61 And let not Satan bar you [from it] - for, verily, he is your open foe! 62 And when 'Iesa (Jesus) came with (Our) clear Proofs, he said: "I have come to you with Al-Hikmah (Prophethood), and in order to make clear to you some of the (points) in which you differ, therefore fear Allah and obey me, 63 For God, He is my Lord and your Lord: so worship Him: that is a straight path." 64 Then the sects differed among themselves. Woe then unto those who do Wrong because of the torment of an afflictive Day. 65 Do they only wait for the Hour that it shall come upon them suddenly, while they perceive not? 66 Friends on that day will be foes one to another, save those who kept their duty (to Allah). 67
