Verily this is a Revelation from the Lord of the Worlds: 192 The Trustworthy Spirit has brought it down 193 to your heart that you might become one of those who warn (others on behalf of Allah), 194 In the plain Arabic language. 195 And lo! it is in the Scriptures of the men of old. 196 And was this not a sign for them, that the scholars of the Descendants of Israel may recognise this Prophet? 197 (But such is their adamance) that had We revealed it to one of the non-Arabs and even if he had recited (this clear Arabic discourse) to them 198 And he had read it unto them, they would not have believed in it. 199 Even so We have caused it to enter into the hearts of the sinners, 200 They will not believe in it till they behold the painful doom, 201 And it shall come to them all of a sudden, while they shall not perceive; 202 Then they will say: "Can we be respited?" 203 Would they (now) hasten on Our doom? 204 Do you not see that even if We give them respite for years 205 And then what they were promised comes upon them, 206 What shall that which they enjoyed avail them? 207 And We destroyed not a city but it had its warners. 208 for a reminder; and never did We wrong. 209 The satans have not revealed the Quran; 210 it is not for them, nor are they able. 211 Verily, they have been removed far from hearing it. 212 Therefore do not worship another deity along with Allah, for you will be punished. 213 And warn [whomever thou canst reach, beginning with] thy kinsfolk, 214 And lower thou thy wing unto those who follow thee as believers. 215 But if they disobey you, then say: Surely I am clear of what you do. 216 Put your trust in the Mighty One, the Merciful, 217 who sees you when you stand 218 and observes your movements among those who prostrate themselves. 219 Indeed, He is the Hearing, the Knowing. 220 Should I tell you on whom the devils descend? 221 They descend upon all sinful self-deceivers 222 They incline their ears, and most of them are liars. 223 As for poets, only the wayward follow them. 224 Seest thou not that they wander distracted in every valley?- 225 And that they say what they practise not?- 226 Except those [poets] who believe and do righteous deeds and remember Allah often and defend [the Muslims] after they were wronged. And those who have wronged are going to know to what [kind of] return they will be returned. 227
