The Inevitable (Al-Waaqe'ah)
In the name of God, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
۞ When the Occurrence occurs, 1 There is, at its occurrence, no denial. 2 Abasing exalting. 3 When the earth is shaken 4 And the mountains are broken down, crumbling 5 and become a dust, scattered, 6 And you will become divided into three categories. 7 Thus, there shall be such as will have attained to what is right: oh, how [happy] will be they who have attained to what is right! 8 Those on the Left -- how unlucky are those on the Left! 9 And the foremost in the race, the foremost in the race: 10 Those are they who will be brought nigh 11 in the Gardens of Delight 12 a host of the ancients 13 And a few from the latter. 14 (They will be) on Thrones encrusted (with gold and precious stones), 15 they shall recline, facing each other, 16 Surrounded by immortal boys. 17 with goblets, and ewers, and cups filled with water from unsullied springs 18 Their heads shall not ache with it, nor shall they lose their senses. 19 with fruits of their own choice 20 and any flesh of fowl that they desire. 21 And [with them will be their] companions pure, most beautiful of eye, 22 Like pearls within their shells, 23 shall be their recompense for their deeds. 24 They shall not hear therein vain or sinful discourse, 25 All talk will be sound and upright. 26 The Companions of the Right (O Companions of the Right!) 27 They shall recline on high amidst lote trees without thorns 28 And acacia covered with heaps of bloom, 29 And shade extended 30 By water flowing constantly, 31 and abundant fruits, 32 unfailing, unforbidden, 33 And on couches or thrones, raised high. 34 Verily We! We have created those maidens by a creation. 35 and shall have made them virgins, 36 Lovers, friends, 37 for those on the Right, 38
