Thus did We deliver the Children of Israel from the humiliating chastisement, 30 and from the Pharaoh. He was the chief of the transgressors. 31 And We knowingly chose them, among all others of their time. 32 And We gave them of signs that in which there was a clear trial. 33 These men do say, 34 "That [which is ahead of us] is but our first [and only] death, and we shall not be raised to life again. 35 Bring back to us our fathers if you are truthful.” 36 Are they, then, better than the people of Tubba and those before them, whom We destroyed because they were truly lost in [the same] sin? 37 We created not the heavens, the earth, and all between them, merely in (idle) sport: 38 We created them not except for just ends: but most of them do not understand. 39 Indeed the Day of Decision is the appointment for all of them. 40 The day when friend will help no friend in the least, nor will they be helped, 41 Save him on whom Allah hath mercy. Lo! He is the Mighty, the Merciful. 42
