O thou enveloped! 1 Arise and warn! 2 And your Lord (Allah) magnify! 3 And thine inner self purify! 4 Pollution shun! 5 And do not through giving seek thyself to gain, 6 And for the good-will of thy Lord be thou patient. 7 Then when the horn shall be blown, 8 So that is a tough day. 9 It will not be easy for those who deny the truth. 10 Leave Me with the one I created alone 11 And then bestowed upon him ample means, 12 And sons abiding in his presence 13 and made all things smooth for him; 14 and yet, he greedily desires that I give yet more! 15 No! Indeed, he has been toward Our verses obstinate. 16 Soon will I visit him with a mount of calamities! 17 Indeed, he thought and deliberated. 18 And woe to him! How he plotted!- 19 Again accursed be he, how evilly did he decide! 20 Then he looked around, 21 Then he frowned and he looked in a bad tempered way; 22 Then turned he back, and grew stiff-necked. 23 And said, "This is not but magic imitated [from others]. 24 "This is nothing but the word of a human being!" 25 I will cast him into the fire of Hell. 26 And what knoweth thou that which the Scorching Fire? 27 It leaveth naught; it spareth naught 28 it scorches the skin; 29 Over it are nineteen (angels as guardians and keepers of Hell). 30 We have appointed only angels to be masters of the Fire, and their number We have appointed only as a trial for the unbelievers, that those who were given the Book may have certainty, and that those who believe may increase in belief, and that those who were given the Book and those who believe may not be in-doubt, and that those in whose hearts there is sickness, and the unbelievers, may say, 'What did God intend by this as a similitude?' So God leads astray whomsoever He will, and He guides whomsoever He will; and none knows the hosts of thy Lord but He. And it is naught but a Reminder to mortals. 31
