The Snatchers (Al-Naze'aat)
In the name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful
By those [angels] who extract with violence 1 by the angels who gently release the souls of the believers, 2 And by those who float in space, 3 Then outpace the others swiftly 4 Then arrange to do (the Commands of their Lord), 5 On the Day, the shiverer shivers 6 There will follow it the subsequent [one]. 7 Hearts will pound loudly on that day, 8 [and] their eyes downcast... 9 They say, "What? shall we be brought back to life, 10 "Even after we are crumbled bones?" 11 They say: Then that would be a vain proceeding. 12 [But,] then, that [Last Hour] will be [upon them of a sudden, as if it were] but a single accusing cry 13 When, behold, they find themselves over the earth alive after their death, 14 Have you received the story of Moses? 15 When his Lord called to him in the holy valley, Towa: 16 saying, "Go to the Pharaoh. He has transgressed beyond all bounds. 17 And say to him: "Would you purify yourself (from the sin of disbelief by becoming a believer)", 18 Then I will guide you to your Lord that you may come to fear Him.'" 19 And he showed him the tremendous token. 20 But he denied and disobeyed, 21 Further, he turned his back, striving hard (against Allah). 22 and gathered his people together 23 And said, "I am your most exalted lord." 24 And thereupon God took him to task, [and made him] a warning example in the life to come as well as in this world. 25 Verily in this is an instructive warning for whosoever feareth (Allah). 26
