▼ 74 The Hidden Secret
Al-Muddath-thir 2 of 2
Nay, by the Moon 32 And the night when it departs, 33 By the dawn when it lightens! 34 That Hell is surely one of the greater signs, 35 a warning to humankind, 36 to whoever among you desires to go forward, or lag behind. 37 Every soul is held in pledge for what it earns, 38 Except the Companions of the Right Hand. 39 Sitting in the gardens, asking 40 about the guilty ones: 41 "What has brought you into hell-fire?" 42 They said, "We never used to offer the prayer." 43 and we did not feed the poor, 44 And we used to enter into vain discourse with those who engaged [in it], 45 and we cried lies to the Day of Doom, 46 "Until there came to us (the death) that is certain." 47 Then will no intercession of (any) intercessors profit them. 48 If such will be the Day of Judgment, what is the matter with them? Why do they run away from guidance, 49 as if they were startled asses 50 running away from a lion? 51 Nay; every one of them desires that he may be given pages spread out; 52 Never! In fact they do not fear the Hereafter. 53 Nay, verily, this is an admonition 54 Let him then who heeds remember it. 55 And they shall not heed unless Allah willeth. He is the Lord of piety, and the Lord of forgiveness. 56
Allah Almighty has spoken the truth.
