The Arrangers (Al-Saaffaat)
In the Name of Allah, the Merciful, the Most Merciful
I CALL TO witness those who stand arrayed in rows, 1 and the scarers scaring 2 And those who recite the Reminder, 3 surely your God is One, 4 the Lord of the heavens and the earth and of whatever lies between the two, the Lord of the Easts. 5 Verily! We have adorned the near heaven with the stars (for beauty). 6 to protect them from the rebellious satan. 7 [So] they may not listen to the exalted assembly [of angels] and are pelted from every side, 8 driven away, and will suffer eternal punishment. 9 Some of them who stealthily steal words from the heavens are pursued by a glistening flame. 10 Ask them thou: are they stronger in structure or those others whom We have created? Verily We! We have created them of a sticky clay. 11 Nay, thou marvellest; and they scoff 12 and when they are admonished, they pay no heed; 13 And whenever they see a sign, they mock at it. 14 And say: "This is only magic. 15 “When we are dead and have turned into dust and bones, will we certainly be raised again?” 16 And so also shall our forefathers of yore be raised to life?” 17 Say (O Muhammad): Ye, in truth; and ye will be brought low. 18 Then it will be a single (compelling) cry; and behold, they will begin to see! 19 And will say, “O our misfortune!” It will be said to them, “This is the Day of Justice.” 20 This is the Day of Decision which you belied. 21
