Resurrection (Al-Qeyaamah)
In the Name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
۞ I do call to witness the Resurrection Day; 1 And I swear by the self-reproaching soul. 2 Does man (a disbeliever) think that We shall not assemble his bones? 3 Surely yes, why not? We can properly make all his phalanxes. 4 But man wishes to do wrong (even) in the time in front of him. 5 He asks: "When will the Day of Resurrection be?" 6 So when the eyes will be blinded by light. 7 and the moon is eclipsed, 8 And the sun and moon are conjoined, 9 Man shall say on that day: Whither to fly to? 10 By no means! NO refuge! 11 Unto thy Lord is the recourse that day. 12 To man will be declared on that Day that which he hath sent on and left behind. 13 Nay, man will be evidence against himself, 14 And even if he presents all the excuses he has, none will be listened to. 15 Do not forestall (the revelation before its completion) by acting in haste. 16 Indeed assembling the Qur’an and reading it are upon Us. 17 When We recite it, follow its recitation (by Us). 18 and then, it will be for Us to make its meaning clear. 19 Nay, (ye men!) but ye love the fleeting life, 20 And you have forsaken the Hereafter. 21 Upon that day faces shall be radiant, 22 and will be looking towards their Lord; 23 And on that Day there shall be scowling faces, 24 dreading some great affliction. 25 Nay; when a man's soul reaches up to the throat, 26 and it is said: “Is there any enchanter who can step forward and help (by his chanting)?” 27 And he is sure that it is the (hour of) parting 28 And one shank is entangled with the other shank. 29 that will be the time to be driven to one's Lord. 30
