The Inevitable (Al-Waaqe'ah)
In the name of God, The Most Gracious, The Dispenser of Grace
۞ When the Occurrence occurs, 1 Then will no (soul) entertain falsehood concerning its coming. 2 It will abase some and exalt others. 3 When the earth is shaken violently, 4 And the mountains will be crushed, blown to bits. 5 and become like scattered dust particles, 6 And ye are classes three. 7 (First) those on the right hand; what of those on the right hand? 8 Then those of the left hand -- how (unhappy) will be those of the left hand! 9 The third to the fore shall be the foremost. 10 These will be those Nearest to Allah: 11 in the Gardens of Delight, 12 (a throng of the ancients 13 And a few of later ages, 14 They (will be seated) on gold-encrusted couches, 15 Reclining face to face. 16 They will be served by immortal boys, 17 with goblets and ewers, and a cup from a spring 18 Unheady, uninebriating; 19 And with fruits, any that they may select: 20 And the meat of fowl, from whatever they desire. 21 And (there will be) Companions with beautiful, big, and lustrous eyes,- 22 Like unto preserved pearls. 23 [And this will be] a reward for what they did [in life]. 24 There they shall hear no idle talk, no cause of sin, 25 (Naught) but the saying: Peace, (and again) Peace. 26 As for the people of the right hand, how happy they will be! 27 Among thorn-less lote-trees. 28 And plantains laden with fruit. 29 and spreading shade 30 And water flowing constantly, 31 And abundant fruit, 32 unfailing, unforbidden, 33 And exalted thrones. 34 We have indeed developed these women with an excellent development. 35 And made them virginal, 36 intensely loving and of matching age. 37 with those who have attained to righteousness: 38
