The Snatchers (Al-Naze'aat)
In the name of Allah, the Entirely Merciful, the Especially Merciful
By oath of those who harshly pull out the soul. (Of the disbeliever) 1 by the drawers (the angels of death), gently drawing (the souls of the believers), 2 By the angels who glide swimmingly, 3 Then press forward as in a race, 4 and by those who regulate events. 5 Upon the day when the first blast shivers 6 and the second blast follows it, 7 hearts will throb on that Day 8 Eyes be lowered in submission. 9 They say: 'What, are we being restored as we were before, 10 even after we have turned into decayed bones?" 11 They say: that then shall be a losing return. 12 However, it will only take a single blast 13 So they will immediately be in an open plain. 14 (Muhammad), have you heard the story of Moses 15 When his Lord called upon him in the holy valley, twice, 16 Saying: go thou unto Fir'awn; verily he hath waxen exorbitant. 17 And say, "Hast thou the will to purify thyself; 18 [If so,] then I shall guide thee towards [a cognition of] thy Sustainer, so that [henceforth] thou wilt stand in awe [of Him].'" 19 Moses showed him the great miracle 20 but he belied and disobeyed, 21 and brusquely turned his back [on Moses]; 22 And assembled (his council) and proclaimed, 23 “I am the supreme lord of you all.” 24 So God seized him with the chastisement of the Last World and the First. 25 Indeed in that is a warning for whoever would fear [Allah]. 26
