The Snatchers (Al-Naze'aat)
In the Name of Allah, the Merciful, the Most Merciful
By the (angels) who tear out (the souls of the wicked) with violence; 1 And [by] those who remove with ease 2 And by those who float in space, 3 And those who race each other in a race 4 And direct affairs by command, 5 On the Day when a violent convulsion will convulse [the world], 6 And the following event will come after it. 7 Hearts, that Day, will tremble, 8 and eyes will be humbly cast down. 9 They say (now): "What! shall we indeed be returned to (our) former state? 10 What, when we are bones old and wasted?' 11 They will say: 'Then we are returned lost' 12 But it shall be only a single cry, 13 and behold, they are awakened. 14 Has Moses' story reached you? 15 When his Lord called him in the holy valley of Tuwa. 16 "Go thou to Pharaoh for he has indeed transgressed all bounds: 17 and say, 'Will you reform yourself? 18 Then I will guide thee to thy Lord and thou shalt fear (Him). 19 So he showed him the mighty sign. 20 In response, he denied and disobeyed. 21 Then turned he away in haste, 22 and gathered his people and declared: 23 “I am the supreme lord of you all.” 24 So Allah, seized him with punishment for his last [i.e. his saying: "I am your lord, most high") (see Verse 79:24)] and first [(i.e. his saying, "O chiefs! I know not that you have a god other than I" (see Verse 28:38)] transgression. 25 Surely, in this there is a lesson for he that fears! 26
