Has the story reached you, of the honoured guests [three angels; Jibrael (Gabriel) along with another two] of Ibrahim (Abraham)? 24 They entered to him and said: 'Peace' And he replied: 'Peace, you are people unknown to me' 25 Then he went to his home – so he brought a healthy calf. 26 He placed it before them. Then he said, "Why are you not eating?" 27 He therefore inwardly sensed fear of them; they said, “Do not fear!”; and they gave him the glad tidings of a knowledgeable son. 28 So his wife came screaming, and striking her forehead cried, “What! For a barren old woman?” 29 They said: Thus says your Lord: Surely He is the Wise, the Knowing. 30 ۞ [Ibrahim (Abraham)] said: "Then for what purpose you have come, O Messengers?" 31 They replied: 'We are sent to a sinful nation, 32 “To throw upon them stones of baked clay.” 33 Marked by your Lord for those who waste their substance." 34 Then We evacuated those of the Believers who were there, 35 And We found not within them other than a [single] house of Muslims. 36 And therein We left a sign to those who fear the painful chastisement. 37 And in Musa: When We sent him to Firon with clear authority. 38 But he turned to his counsellors, and said: "He is a magician or lunatic." 39 So We seized him and his hosts and cast them into the sea. Indeed, he was blameworthy. 40 And in the 'Ad (people) (was another Sign): Behold, We sent against them the devastating Wind: 41 Which turned everything it touched to ashes. 42 There is also evidence (of the Truth) in the story of the Thamud, who were told to enjoy themselves for an appointed time. 43 But they rebelled against their Lord's decree, and so the thunderbolt overtook them even while they gazed; 44 Then they could not even stand (on their feet), nor could they help themselves. 45 Before all these We destroyed the people of Noah: they were a wicked people. 46
