Dispatched (Al-Mursalaat)
Allah - beginning with the name of - the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
By the winds sent forth in swift succession, 1 And by the winds that blow violently, 2 And [by] the winds that spread [clouds] 3 thus separating [right and wrong] with all clarity, 4 and those hurling a reminder 5 To end all argument or to warn. 6 Surely what you are promised shall come to pass. 7 When the stars lose their light, 8 and when the sky is rent asunder 9 And when the mountains are blown away, 10 And when the messengers are brought unto their time appointed - 11 to what day shall they be delayed? 12 For the Day of Decision. 13 And what will explain to thee what is the Day of Sorting out? 14 Woe on that Day to those who reject the truth. 15 Destroyed We not the former folk, 16 and make others settle after them in their land? 17 Even thus shall We deal with the guilty. 18 Ah woe, that Day, to the Rejecters of Truth! 19 Did We not create you of a mean fluid, 20 We then kept it in a safe place. 21 for a term pre-ordained? 22 Thus We arranged. How excellent is Our arranging! 23 Ah woe, that Day! to the Rejecters of Truth! 24 Did We not make the earth as a gathering place 25 For the living and the dead among you? 26 And placed in it lofty and broad stablisers, and gave you sweet water to drink? 27 Woe unto the repudiators on that day! 28 GO ON towards that [resurrection] which you were wont to call a lie! 29 Depart into the shadow of three masses, 30 Neither shading nor availing against the flame. 31 The fire will shoot out sparks as big as huge towers 32 which seem as though they are yellow-coloured camels. 33 Alas the woe that day for those who deny! 34 This is the Day they shall not speak, 35 nor will they be permitted to offer any excuses. 36 Woe on that day to the rejecters. 37 That is the Day of Judgement on which We have assembled you as well as all those who went before you. 38 If now ye have any craft, try that craft upon Me. 39 Ruin is for the deniers on that day! 40
